Teens wait to get to 18 so that they can start dating. The term dating is used to refer to the meeting that takes place between two people with the intention of getting to know each other better. Individuals choose their date partner from their college or from their work place. It can also be someone they met briefly and exchanged the contact details. For dating to happen both parties agree on a mutual place, time and a date. It can be at a restaurant, cinema hall or any other place which is fancied by both parties.

Another term that is used to refer to dating activity is “going out with.”

There are different types of dating:

Regular Dating – As the name suggests here the couple will engage in dating activity on regular basis. Here they stick to one dating partner over a period of time so that they get to know each other better and see whether a more intimate relationship will work between them. Most of the regular dating would end up in more intimate relationship leading to marriage.

Double Dating – A double date happens when two couples engage in a dating activity. Double dating helps teenagers who are starting their dating life; those who are still not sure whether to date someone can try initially with double dating. This is lot safer and lighter. This way you also get to spend time with their partner.

Group Dating – This is similar to double dating but it becomes group dating when more than two pairs engage in a dating activity. Not many prefer double dating and group dating as they get very less intimate time with their partner.

Blind Dating – This happens when both the parties have not met before the actual dating. This can be done with the help of a third party or through many online internet dating websites. Blind dating involves a certain amount of risk factor especially for the women as they would not be sure what to expect and what sort of person they are dating with.

Whatever be the type of dating, it helps the couple to assess the other party. Regular dating is advisable type of dating if one is looking for some serious relationship. As it is not possible to understand a person fully in a couple of meetings, regular dating becomes essential before one can make an informed decision about their life and whether to be committed to someone for rest of their life.
