HealthWhen a person enjoys a perfect state of physical and mental well being then that individual is termed to be a healthy person. Physical well being will mean absence of illnesses, sickness or diseases. Though the term health is not confined to physical well being, it is most often understood as bodily illnesses due to its usage.To enjoy good physical health one’s basic necessities have to be met. One should have proper food, uncontaminated water, safe and protective shelter so that one can maintain good health. If one does not get enough food, he or she will suffer from malnutrition and other illnesses will follow suit. If the drinking water is not clean and safe, it will invite a host of diseases; insufficient or lack of water would lead to dehydration. Good physical exercise too is essential to keep fit physically. Over consumption of food and little exercise will lead to accumulation of fat leading to increase in the blood pressure and other heart related ailments. So one’s diet and physical activity should be well balanced. Good sleep is also an essential component of good health. Personal and environmental hygiene should not be overlooked. There are many infectious diseases those are spread due to unhygienic living conditions. Human mind and body are closely related. Problem with one affects the other. Someone with undue pressure and stress will experience headaches and other ailments which do not allow the person to lead a normal life. In the same way when some one suffers from some form of chronic illness will experience depression. Thus mind and body are closely related one affecting the other. Therefore good health would mean well being of both mind and body. To enjoy good health one should also pay attention to their height and body weight. Body weight should be proportionate the height. There are lot of people who suffer from obesity which results from over eating and lack of physical exercise. Proper diet would solve the problem here along with adequate physical activity. Good diet is something that supplies all the necessary nutrients and vitamins needed for the body to operate in a normal fashion. The best way to enjoy and maintain good health is through prevention. If enough care is taken with the basics such as uncontaminated water, good diet that will supply enough proteins and nutrition to the body, hygienic environment, good personal hygiene and enough physical hygiene you can stay away from many of the illnesses and remain healthy. Regular visits to your physician for general health check up will help you identify any possible diseases in its early stages itself so that necessary course of action can be taken to regain original good health.
