Politics is as old as the human race. Politics have a great or the most influence on any given society or the world in general than any other field. We experience the effects of politics in all aspects of our life; today the world has shrunk so much due to the technological advancements and the advanced communication channels, what happens in one end of the world affects people all over the world. It can be the collapse of an economy or certain party or leader coming to power or the collapse of a certain government. The repercussions of politics have wide spread repercussions today on the entire world.
Politics can be generally defined as the process through which a set of people arrive at a decision after analyzing various possibilities those are available. The final decision is normally made towards the best interests of the group that is involved; normally it is the country or the state. Governments are established, disestablished, parties are elected to power and thrown out of power through political activities. Politics and political activities endow authority and power on a person, party or a group. Politics is a very complex field to understand fully what is going on exactly within a party or a government by mere observation. One has to be part and parcel of it so as to understand the motivations of certain moves of the political parties.
There are various political philosophies people adhere to based on the value system they hold and the convictions they live by. Due to the emergence of too many philosophies and interests based on those convictions there has been a tension always in politics irrespective of countries or cultures. Political parties always fight against each other and try to down play their opponent at every opportunity they get. Therefore, politics has created for itself a negative image and lots of people try to avoid politics because of its nasty nature.
However, if politics and competing political parties were not to be there, one group will attain the power and will try to oppress the people as there would be no one to question them or take them into task when they foul play. So politics does do some good to the society and without the aid of politics today’s democratic structure will not be in place and the world as one can imagine will become a very difficult place to live. Though good politics exist only in books we cannot certainly dismiss the authority checks it administers.
