Shopping

Shopping is a process in which a shopper examines products or some service that he / she intends to purchase. This might be a serious shopping or just a relaxing shopping or might even be window shopping which does not involve any actual purchase but the shopper just examines the product or service and the cost involved with it. In this case, shopping is merely considered an entertainment or a recreational activity.

Shopping is an age old phenomenon which has been practiced and followed for more than thousands of years. But of course the methodology, modes and regulations have changed a lot. Any shopping process involves active participation of two parties, viz., the shopper and the retailer. Any shopping experience would be enjoyable only when both these parties take part in the process actively. Bargaining is also a part of shopping in which the shopper bargains with the retailer for considerable discount or some attractive offers. The bargain might end with a compromise between both the parties. It is mostly favorable to both of them.

With the technological advancements, the shopping style and trend has also changed a lot. Earlier there used to be a common market where all the retailers sold their products or services in their own shops. These shops as well were very simple and used just to serve the purpose. But in this era many shopping malls, shopping hubs, shopping centers, bazaars, flea market, shopping arcades and town squares have come into existence. These are nothing but shopping places with number of shops. These are normally large buildings with a posh environment and hi-fi shops.

There are various types and standards of shop. Few might deal with all types of goods, some might be specific in selling some particular products, and some of them might sell second hand goods and so on. Likewise, not all traders would sell their products to everyone. There might be dealers or wholesalers who would sell their products only to other retailers but not directly to the consumers. There are also chain stores which sell the same product with the same trademark, same logo, same quality policy and everything the same but have their retails outlets in different locations. This is much preferred by many people as this assures that the quality of the product would be the same where ever they move.

Lately, many other means of shopping like telescoping, home shopping and internet shopping have aroused which does not even require the shopper to visit the shop. The shopper can just remain in his or her house and order for the product through email or telephone. There are also facilities available to make the payment through credit cards. More and more enhancements to the system are made in order to make it even simpler and more entertaining.
